Admission Details 

Eligibility Criteria for the admission in MPhil leading to PhD:

A minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division or equivalent score in M. Ed from TU or any other educational institution recognized by TU.

Or

A minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division or equivalent score in any masters’ program except M. Ed along with an experience of teaching or research for at least 1 year.

Name registration for the MPhil leading to PhD program:

• Must be qualified on entrance test organized by GSE, FoE, TU.
• Will be selected in terms of their merit.
• Will be admitted after the deposition of prescribed fee with the given time.

Eligibility criteria for admission in subject specification:

Education Studies:

A minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division or equivalent score in M. Ed. from TU or any other educational institution recognized by TU.

Or,

A minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division or equivalent score in any masters’ program except M. Ed. along with an experience of teaching or research for at least 1 year.

English Education:

Minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division score in M. Ed in English Education.

Mathematics Education:

Minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division score in M. Ed in Mathematics Education.

Health Education:

Minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division score in master degree of the following subjects:

M. Ed. in Health Education, M. Ed. in Physical Education, M. Ed. in Population Education, Master in Public Health, M. Sc. in Biology, M. Sc. in Nursing, M. Sc. in Environment Science.

Nepali Education:

Minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division score in M. Ed in Nepali Education.

Social Studies Education:

• Minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division score in M.Ed. in Geography Education, Economics Education, Political Science Education, History Education, Population Education, Health Education, Physical Education, EPM and curriculum.
• Minimum of ‘B’ grade or second division score in Mater of Geography, Economics, Political Science, History, Population Studies, Culture, Rural Development, Sociology, Anthropology and Psychology from faculty of Humanities and Social sciences.

Eligibility Criteria for the admission in PhD Program:

• The applicants with any one of the following qualifications are eligible to apply for PhD program:
  • MPhil in Education from TU or any other institution recognized by TU.
  • Any master’s degree and completed 24 credit hours course of MPhil Education in two semesters with B grade or equivalent
  • M.Ed. with MPhil from any other faculty or Institute.
  • Master’s degree in any subject with MPhil from any other faculty or Institute but working as teacher in Faculty of Education, TU.
  • PhD from any other faculty or Institute.

• Will be selected in terms of their merit.
• Will be admitted after deposition of prescribed fee with the given time
