About PhD
This program is an advanced level program with a special focus on research and knowledge. GSE provides six specializations in PhD program: Education studies, English education, Nepali Education, Mathematics Education, Health Education and Social studies Education. Minimum duration of this program is 2 years from PhD registration and it is a 24 credit hours course.
Programs’ structure and time period
Minimum time is four semesters and maximum period is eight semesters.
Temporary registration is counted from the admission date.
Dissertation may be submitted after completion of two years (four semesters) from temporary registration. If within four years (eight semesters) scholar is not able to submit dissertation, on recommendation of supervisor one year may be extended. If within this extended period too, they are not able to submit the dissertation then registration is cancelled.
If the registration is cancelled, research scholar should start the new admission process for registration.
Attendance of the research scholar
Research scholar should be present in guest class/ course work/ workshop/ seminar presentation/ progress presentation and all other academic work organized by GSE. In such program GSE keep the attendance record. Every research scholar must have 80% attendance.
